Our family loves pizza. Our son works at a pizzeria which makes the best New York style pizza. We often drive up to Reading, PA where there is a Pizzeria Uno for Chicago Style Pizza. Heck, we've even ordered from Tastes of Chicago. With the combined cooking skills of my son and myself, we've made some awesome pies, both New York and Chicago styles, ourselves.
It's a complete meal, and you can put on it anything that you like.
Fresh pizza is always best, but you sometimes have to bite the bullet and settle for frozen. Not for anything, but coming from New York where you can get anything you want at any time to Lancaster, PA where the sidewalks roll up by 9pm...having a craving for pizza at 2am isn't easily satisfied.

Frozen pizza is the ultimate speed supper -- even faster than Domino's. But does it taste like cardboard? We invited 24 testers to sample leading brands (in veggie, pepperoni, and cheese) and sort the gummy from the yummy. Forty-six pies later, our picks for the big cheese:
Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza for One
• Top pie: Who says healthy can't taste good? DiGiorno Rising Crust Vegetable Pizza earned more first-place votes than any other pie in any category, scoring points for its fresh veggies and thick crust. Olive lovers liked Amy's Veggie Combo Pizza. Both are good nutritional bets, about 290 calories and 9 grams of fat per slice.
• Nice spice: Tony's Super Rise Crust won as the pepperoni favorite.
• Cheese, please: Three brands tied, with personal taste playing a big role. Extra-cheese lovers gave a thumbs-up to Tombstone Original Extra Cheese. Tony's Original Crust Cheese Pizza scored for its flavorful sauce. Jeno's Crisp 'N Tasty was favored by thin-crust aficionados.
Here are the complete results from our taste test:
PEPPERONI TEST

1 Tony's Super Rise Crust Pepperoni ($4.39) Spicy, meaty and plentiful pepperoni slices complemented by a sauce with a kick made this the clear winner. And it's the lowest in sodium. 21 oz.
2 Red Baron Bake-to-Rise Pepperoni ($5.49) Tasters enjoyed its doughy crust. Of the group, it's the lowest in fat. 29.45 oz.
2 DiGiorno Rising Crust Pepperoni ($5.79) DiGiorno tied with Red Baron, for its thick crust and ample cheese. 31.5 oz.
3 Freschetta Pepperoni ($5.99) Most thought Freschetta was the spiciest, in a flavor not favored by many. 28.15 oz.
VEGGIE TEST
RANK BRAND COMMENTS WEIGHT
1 DiGiorno Rising Crust Vegetable Pizza ($5.79) This tasted restaurant-fresh -- especially the plentiful red and green peppers. The rising crust lived up to its name. 31.5 oz.
2 Amy's Veggie Combo Pizza ($5.99) Tasters liked the generous serving of olives and artichokes and the thin, crisp crust. 16 oz.
3 Tony's Original Crust Vegetable Pizza ($2.48) Among the miserly veggie assortment were carrots. Who ever heard of carrots as a topping for pizza? 16.55 oz.
4 Smart One's Veggie Ultimate ($3) The diet choice didn't fool most taste buds -- except those who enjoyed the sun-dried tomato and herb crust. 7.69 oz.
CHEESE TEST
RANK BRAND COMMENTS WEIGHT
1 Tombstone Original Extra Cheese ($4.69) Tombstone makes only "extra cheese," so this brand won by being the cheesiest. 20.5 oz.
1 Tony's Original Crust Cheese Pizza ($2.48) Here, the flavorful not-too-spicy sauce steals the show. 15.1 oz.
1 Jeno's Crisp 'N Tasty ($1.20) All of our tasters agreed with "crisp" but were divided on "tasty." 6.9 oz.
2 Amy's Cheese Pizza ($4.99) This organic pizza has bland but fresh-tasting tomato sauce. 13 oz.
